Ghazala Idrees better known by her stage name Nargis is a Pakistani actress and stage dancer, She was born on 12th August 1974 in Lahore. From 1993 to 2018 Nargis acted in more than 104 movies and she was highest-paid stage drama actress across the country in 2016. She is best known for her role in Pakistani film Choorian (1998), which ranks amongst the highest-grossing domestic movies of all time.

Personal life

Nargis mother and father have both been involved in the film industry. Her father was renowned sound recordist Idrees Butt. Her sister Deedar is also stage dancer and actress. After Deedar’s marriage, In a press conference Nargis said that she will no longer work in stage drama and film industry.

Domestic Abuse by Husband Majid Bashir – 2024

In November 2024, Nargis had filed a case at the police station against her husband, Majid Bashir, on charges of torture and threats at gunpoint, alleging he attempted to forcibly take cash and jewelry from her at his farmhouse.

According to Nargis and other sources, Majid Bashir had an affair with Aftab Iqbal’s ex-wife, Mariyam Ali Hussain, a TV anchor and dance artist. Nargis also revealed that she had caught her husband, Majid Bashir, on the phone with Mariyam Ali Hussain.

Currently Nargis is Married to Majid Bashir a Punjab Police Inspector, they got married in 2016. Nargis is Majid Bashir’s second wife, He has three daughters, Irha and Nabeeha from his first wife Sabeel.

Nargis second marriage – 2004

Nargis second marriage was with Film producer Zubair Shah in 2004 and divorced in 2016, He produced several Punjabi films with her. Nargis has two children with Zubair Shah, son Murtaza Ali Shah and daughter Masooma Shah. Both children live with father Zubair Shah in Canada.

According to some reports, Nargis found her then-husband, Zubair Shah, with Pashto cinema actress Saba Kazmi, pushing her to end their relationship.

Nargis and Abid Boxer controversy – 2002

In early career there were rumours that Nargis had alleged affair with Inspector Abid Boxer. It ended when she was severely beaten up and shaved her head by Abid Boxer. After the incident, she left the country for a while due to the fear of Abid Boxer. Later He Apologized to her publicly.
