Babbu Rana

Babbu Rana is a Pakistani stage actor, comedian, and singer from Faisalabad, Punjab. His real name is Muhammad Babar Siddique, and his ustad, Babu Baral, gave him the name Babbu Rana. He was born on 10 July, 1981 (age 44 years old).

His elder brothers include stage actor and comedian Hamid Rangeela and Naʽat reciter Muhammad Saeed Qadri.^[1]

Babbu Rana is married and has 4 children: two daughters and two sons.

Career

Babbu Rana debuted in theater in 1999 with the stage drama “Rano Mere Nal Vyah Kar La”. At the time, his brother Hamid Rangeela had been doing theater for ten years.^[2]

When Babbu Rana joined the theater, he chose Babar Rana as his stage name. When he became a student of Babu Baral, he advised him that his name did not suit the theater industry and that he should change it. Babar Rana asked him to give a name, and Babu Baral named him Babbu Rana.

Babbu Rana sang a parody of Arif Lohar’s classic song “Jugni Ji” called “Bijli Chahiey” in 2011. It was produced by Express News.^[3]

Following that, he appeared in 22-24 episodes of the Dunya News’ Hasb e Haal program. Then, in 2015, Babbu Rana quit Hasb e Haal to join Ahmad Ali Butt’s Hadd e Adab show on 92 News. In 2015, he joined the Khabardaar show, hosted by Aftab Iqbal and broadcast on Express News.

Then he left Aftab Iqbal’s show and joined DaisBook on GNN in 2023, which he left soon after and returned to Aftab Iqbal; since then, he has worked with Aftab Iqbal on several shows.

Currently, Babbu Rana is pursuing his singing career and participating in live qawali shows.
