Zara Akbar

Zahra Akbar Baloch, aka Zara Akbar, is a Pakistani film and stage actress and dancer from Sargodha, Punjab. Later, she moved to Lahore, Punjab, and now lives in London, United Kingdom.

She was born in Sargodha, Punjab, to Fatah Bibi and Muhammad Akbar Baloch. Her father was a chief technician in the Pakistan Air Force (PAF); upon retirement, he joined NESPAK, and the family relocated to Lahore, Punjab. She has completed matric.^[1]

Pakistani actress Zara Akbar first married Fauzi Ali Kazmi in 1999, with the marriage ending in divorce two years later. She has one son from this union.^[2] In November 2019, Zara Akbar entered her second marriage with Saad Luqman in the United Kingdom.^[3]

Career

Zara Akbar began her career as a child star at the age of 12, appearing on a popular morning show. Her breakthrough came in the early 1990s with the PTV drama Sumbul, where she played the lead role alongside renowned Pakistani actors Ayub Khoso and Hassam Qazi. She gained widespread recognition for her performance in the series.

In 2008, Zara Akbar made her film debut in Suhagan, co-starring Shaan Shahid, Nargis, and Babar Ali. The film, written and directed by Parvez Rana, marked her official entry into Pakistani cinema.

Controversy

According to unverified claims circulating on social media, Zara Akbar was allegedly involved in a relationship with Fauzi Ali Kazmi and former Pakistani president Asif Ali Zardari. Some reports further allege that Zardari arranged for Zara Akbar to be legally registered as Fauzi Ali Kazmi’s wife, and that both men were purportedly involved with her during that period. It is also claimed that a son was born, with Fauzi Ali Kazmi listed as the legal father, while the biological father remains unclear according to these allegations.^[4]

These unverified reports claim that after her separation from Fauzi Ali Kazmi, Zara Akbar sought child support and later filed a case in court. She allegedly warned that she would reveal the child’s true parentage through DNA testing. According to these claims, she and her son were threatened, which reportedly led her to withdraw the case and leave the situation.^[5]
