Amanullah Khan was a renowned Pakistani television, cinema, and stage actor and comedian from Gujranwala, Punjab, Pakistan.

Amanullah Khan was referred to be “The King of Comedy” in Pakistan. Amanullah was born in 1950 in Gujranwala, Punjab, Pakistan.

Early Life

Amanullah was born in Chak Ramdas, Gujranwala, Punjab, in 1950. Amanullah’s ancestry is believed to be related to the Patiala gharana. His father and ancestors used to sing at weddings and small gatherings, and his family was musically inclined.

Because his mother died and his father became unwell when he was very young, Amanullah spent his youth in poverty, doing daily labor work and selling candies at Data Darbar Lahore, earning 5-10 rupees per day at the time. He was his parents’ only son and had only one sister

Personal life

Amanullah Khan married three times and had a total of 14 children.[1]

Career

Amanullah began his career with theatrical comedy, where he had the opportunity to showcase his talent at a young age. Tufail Niazi, a well-known Pakistani vocalist at the time, introduced him to the theatrical profession.

Tufail Niazi, his neighbour, found his potential and provided Amanullah the opportunity to showcase his comic abilities to the rest of the world.

Amanullah has performed 860 shows during his career and received the Pride of Performance award in 2018 for his exceptional efforts in the Pakistani entertainment industry.

He has been on several television shows, including The Great Indian Laughter Challenge, Khabarnaak, Khabarzar, and Mazaaq Raat, and has played a variety of characters.

He had previously toured India, and several notable Indian comedians, including Kapil Sharma and Chandan Prabhakar, see him as a mentor and inspiration.

Amanullah Khan Death

Amanullah Khan died on 6 March 2020 due to kidney failure in a local hospital in Lahore.[2]
