Agha Majid

Agha Majid is a Pakistani singer, actor, and comedian. He was born on February 4, 1976 in Gawalmandi, Lahore, Pakistan. His family relocated to Multan while he was in fifth grade. Sohail Abbas was his mentor.

Career

He worked as a Tailor in Multan, then his elder brother who was working in Kuwait sent a tailor visa for him. He worked in Kuwait for few years then came back to Multan and began theatre in 90’s. His father Shaukat kicked him out of his house when he began theatre in Multan. He then shared a leased residence with Nasir Chinyoti and Saleem Albela for 5 years.

His first paycheck for stage drama was 500 rupees, which he received after a week of work.

Agha Majid’s father called upon Nasir Chinyoti to persuade him to marry so he could return home, and he accepted. In year 2000, He first got engaged, then married the following month.

Agha Majid used to perform qawwali parodies in stage plays, until he began singing professionally with Khabarnaak.

Early life and family

During the India-Pakistan partition in 1947, Agha Majid’s ancestors migrated from Jalandhar, Punjab, India, to Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan. Agha Majid was born in Gawalmandi, Lahore, Pakistan, during childhood his nick name was KuKu. When he was in 5th class his family migrated to Multan. His father was in Catering Business.

He is the second youngest of five brothers and two sisters. His eldest brother name is Hamid. Agha Majid is reported to be a relative of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan.

Agha Majid has four children, two daughter and two son. His eldest son Agha Obaidullah got married in February 2022.
