Sangam Theater Controversy

June 10 2019, Sheela Choudhary and her husband said in a press conference, that they had an agreement with Sangam Theatre owner Malik Naseer for a 16-day stage drama on April 26, 2019. After that, they began performing at Sangam Theatre, where they were informed by the theatre staff that Malik Naseer is an alcoholic who calls on stage women to his room and blackmails them after recording their videos.

According to Sheela, after the stage show, Malik Naseer called her to his rom to collect her reward, which she declined, so her husband Lucky went instead. Malik Naseer told Lucky to send Sheela because he wanted to reward her. Sheela Choudhary and her husband Lucky then went to Malik Naseer’s room. Malik Naseer told Lucky to leave the room and wait outside. When Lucky refused, Malik Naseer called his son, brother-in-law, and Chattha, who beat them both.

Lucky, Sheela Chaudhry’s husband, claimed that they were able to escape with the help of Sheela Choudhary’s fellow male stage dancers. Then they contacted the police hotline, but no one showed up, and they kept stating the location wasn’t under their jurisdiction, so they were terrified and hid for two days. He then went to the police station to register a FIR.

Sheela Choudhary also said many stage actresses, including Laiba Bangash and Babra Ali, would go to Malik Naseer’s room and drink alcohal before doing stage dance. Lucky added that they also take the Ice (crystal methamphetamine) drug.

On June 11, 2019, Sangam Theatre owner Malik Naseer, together with Laiba Bangash, Babra Ali, and several stage artists, held a press conference.

Malik Naseer stated that Sheela Choudhary was performing vulgar dance performances that the director did not approve of and warned her to stop, but she persisted, and Malik Naseer called her to stop performing vulgar dance. Sheela Choudhary refused and walked out of the stage show.

Sheela Choudhary’s claims were also rejected by Laiba Bangash and Babra Ali, who labelled her arrogant and selfish.

According to few Journalists, Many stage actresses have previously filed complaints against Malik Naseer.
